On November 8, 2024, the IEEE student branch of the American University of Technology, with the support of the IEEE Computer society Lebanon Chapter hosted an informative workshop focusing on cybersecurity titled “Networking and Cybersecurity with Mikrotik”. The event was held in the university’s auditorium and featured a comprehensive presentation by Mr. Fredy Eid.
Mr. Eid delivered an engaging and insightful presentation, covering critical aspects of networking and cybersecurity. The workshop included:
-Router Configuration: Demonstrating step-by-step how to configure a Mikrotik router.
-Real-Time Cybersecurity Measures: Showcasing techniques to protect a company’s network from cyberattacks in real-time.
- Mikrotik Services: Explaining the various services Mikrotik offers to enhance network security and management.
The workshop saw excellent participation from the audience. Attendees were actively engaged, taking notes, and asking numerous questions, which led to dynamic discussions on various topics.
A short coffee break was held during the workshop, where participants enjoyed coffee, tea, water, and cupcakes. This break provided an opportunity for attendees to network and exchange ideas.
After the break, the workshop resumed with Mr. Eid conducting a live demonstration of the discussed concepts, which captivated the audience’s attention.
The event concluded with a group photo session, and the IEEE student branch expressed their gratitude to all participants.
The workshop was successfully sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society, contributing to its overall success.
